AND SO IT GOES

The countdown is now 56 days until beginning my new "gig"" as a global nomad. Many of my co-travelers prefer the term "digital nomad", but as one who lived through the overextended comparisons between digital natives and digital immigrants, I prefer my nomadic life to be around the world, not around devices. Nonetheless, I promised friends and family that I would blog about my experience.

And so. . . here it goes!

This blog's history shows the failed attempts at blogging in the past. My students and nieces/nephews tell me the best venue would be TikTok.  My sister-in-law says not to worry about how I look in the video and “just do it”.  Yet there’s the writing aspect that merits my attention.

In spite of great coaching from my tech mentor, Jeff Utecht, writing and research guidance from my first chair, Dr. Cheryl Keen, and the simple joy I have always found when weaving a story, I seldom write. My eagerness to further my doctoral studies around global citizenship faltered not at the inquiry or research level - especially in the glorious Library of Congress reading room -  but at the blank-page syndrome of writing.

And so it goes for Phase III of habitual blogging.
